C&M (Carol & Michel) Superior Systems started out as a welding hobby shop in the suburbs of Ajax, Ontario where Michel welded his first dock in 1999. As a sales representative in the aluminum extrusion business at the time, Michel spent his evenings in a 2 car garage fabricating docks and other aluminum products for himself and friends.

6 years later, the Lanteigne family relocated to Kingston where Michel continued to build docks part time from a 3-car garage at home. C&M Superior Systems was incorporated in 2007 when Michel offered docks, decks, screen rooms and hot tubs before becoming a full-time operation in 2012.
